The concept of Ikigai comes from Japan and can be roughly translated into “a reason for being”. The word ‘ikigai” in Japanese usually indicates the source of value in an individual’s life, or the different elements that make his life worthwhile. Each individual has a different ikigai, made up of the things that he holds dear, his values and his beliefs. It is quite spiritual, reflects who we are deeply inside, at peace with the world around us. In a sense, it is about being at the right place, at the right time, with all things going well for us. Like finding the true meaning of life.
Eskaepe Ikigai is the first of the Eskaepe family of gins. In this Japanese tradition, Eskaepe Ikigai’s first nose note is that of the sakura flower, or Japanese cherry blossom, in high flowering – hand-picked in the few short weeks where the flowers are their most beautiful and aromatic, at their best. Its lower nose note is Yuzu lemon, citric and tangy. In the mouth the remaining 17 botanicals including Sichuan pepper provoke a floral explosion on the taste buds. So powerful indeed, that although Eskaepe Ikigai can be complemented with your favorite Gin & Tonic mixers or in a summer cocktail, it can also be enjoyed pure, on ice.

Jai ho is a Hindi phrase that can be roughly translated into “May there always be victory”, or 'let victory prevail". In some Indian languages such as Gujarati it can also be heard used as a synonym for "Praise Be To" and is then followed by the name of a worshipped being or aspect. It can be assimilated to "Hallelujah".
When we put our thoughts and noses to work to define a true scent and sense of India as our second member of the Eskaepe gin franchise, the outcome was so powerful that the Jai Ho name was a given. Our spicy yet floral blend of flavours includes chai tea, lotus leaves, cardamom pods, and coriander mingled with citrus Nepalese timut pepper and orange and lemon peels. This is the true passage to India… So powerful indeed, that the gin purist will enjoy it's full body pure, on ice, although it makes a wonderful rich Gin & Tonic with a neutral tonic.

Aramesh is the third member of the Eskaepe family. It finds its Persian roots in the Fertile Crescent of ancient Mesopotamia. Aramesh signifies calmness or serenity. The name Aramesh is often given to baby girls because it holds numerous positive character values for the individual who is honoured with it: friendly, collaborative, humble... Aramesh is a person who works well with others without ever trying to outshine them, which makes them often admired by others.
It became clear to us in the making that this would be our black label, gold highlighted edition. It is crafted leveraging many of the botanicals of our award-winning London Dry Eskaepe Jai Ho with a sublime distillation of red poppies and black cumin, giving it a hazelnut then fruity nose with a floral and citrus-spicy palate.
Eskaepe Aramesh is best served on ice with a neutral tonic but can also be savoured straight on ice for a bolder sharper taste.
